It is a response to an event that overwhelms the individual’s coping resources, making it difficult for him or her to function effectively in society. Traumatic situations are those in which the person is rendered powerless and where great danger is involved. Trauma generally includes events involving death and injury or the possibility of death or injury. The word trauma is generally used to include both natural catastrophes and man-made violence.
A person suffering from trauma is usually left with intense feelings and sensations that negatively influence his or her mental well-being. These feelings and sensations make it difficult for that person to resume his or her normal, everyday activities.

In order to deal with trauma, it helps to understand the broad psychological effects of trauma. These vary according to the victim’s beliefs, expectations, and assumptions about the world.
R. JanofBulman asserts that the experience of trauma shatters four basic healthy assumptions about the self and the world: the belief in personal invulnerability; the view of the self as positive; the belief that the world is a meaningful and orderly place and that events happen for a reason; and the trust that other human beings are fundamentally benign.
These four assumptions allow people to function effectively in the world and to relate to others. After an experience of violence, the person is left feeling vulnerable, helpless, and out of control in a world that is no longer predictable. Interventions to deal with trauma, therefore, aim to reframe the trauma so that the individual can see that his or her responses to it are normal responses to an abnormal event.

There are three key elements in helping a person to deal with trauma:

1. Getting the person to talk about what happened to them, to tell their story, in detail. This effectively results in the victim verbalizing a horror and discussing it with someone else, in words and language, renders it less fearsome and less out of control.
2. Reframing the victim’s perceptions of his or her role in the event. Victims often blame themselves or feel guilty, particularly when they feel they could have done something to save a loved one or friend who died in the incident. The victim needs to be reassured that they did the best they could under the circumstances.
3. Development and sustaining coping mechanisms. The victim of trauma will feel powerless and unable to deal with daily life tasks. You need to help them re-establish their coping mechanisms-not by doing things for them but by getting them to develop ways that they can possibly deal with things.

Coping with Sadness

People feel many different things. They can feel happy, afraid, mad, or sad. These feelings are called emotions. Sadness is an emotion.
Everybody feels sad once in a while. Sadness does not make you feel good. When you are sad, you do not want to smile or be with other people.

To cope with sadness, experts recommend the following:

1. We should know the difference between sadness and depression, because these need to be dealt with differently. In his book “Passion and Reason” Bernice Lazarus states that sadness is not depression, though it is often confused with it.
2. We should allow ourselves to be sad, and to cry if we feel like crying-suppressing tears may do more damage than good. We should schedule sadness time and let the tears flow freely (though this may seem like an odd thing to do). We should also understand that crying is not a sign of weakness, but instead this can be one of strength. With more serious issues we can allow ourselves to mourn for a longer period of time. The key is to really deal with our emotions in an effective manner.
3. If we are feeling sad, we should think about the context of the sad feelings. Are they related to a loss? If it isn’t we may be in trouble and should seek professional help right away.

The following can help us recover from sadness:

A. Schedule time to observe our thoughts and feelings.
B. Listen to soothing music.
C. Try to be one with nature: go for walks on a beautiful pathway or around a lake, or go on fishing or hiking trip.
D. Confide in a trusted friend. Sometimes a listing and sympathetic ear is al that may be required.
If you are feeling sad about a particular event, I suggest you start writing your thoughts down. You might be amazed to discover how therapeutic this activity can be. If you are afraid that others may read your journal, type your thoughts on your computer instead and use a password to protect your document. This way you can write more freely-it really works for me.

Tips To Manage Your Own Anger

The biggest challenge for most pit bulls in becoming confrontable may be managing their own anger. Understanding your anger is the first step.
The practical, popular psychologist Dr. Joyce Brothers, in an interview, summarized the research about anger management. Understand, she stressed, that your own anger is all about fear, especially the fear of exposing something about yourself and the fear of losing control.
When you feel anger, before exploding, ask yourself of what or whom you are afraid. What might you lose in the encounter? How might you be hurt? Knowing the real, underlying reason may help you control your anger.
Next, suggests Dr. Brothers, don’t ignore your anger, but don’t express rage inappropriately. There was a time when people thought it healthy to immediately express their anger. More recent, however, suggests that constant ventilating actually makes us more angry rather than less. The most accepted theory is to assume a middle ground between exploding and suppressing anger. Follow these tips, Dr. Brothers suggests:

1. Don’t ignore your anger, but don’t immediately blow up.
2. Count to ten.
3. Direct your anger at the proper person.
4. Deal with the issue at hand; don’t bring up old issues.
5. Confront the person in private.
6. Stay calm; act calm.
7. Don’t smile-smiling can be viewed as mocking and can increase anger.
8. Use “I” statement, i.e., “I don’t want you to throw away my papers without asking,” rather than “You have no respect for my things.”
9. Wait for their explanation.
10. Offer understanding (let them save face).

If counting to 10 doesn’t work, Dr. Brothers suggests you count to 100! If you can manage your anger so that you’re confrontable, and if you encourage skillful confrontation in your own organization, you can move from defending and debating to listening and learning. You can evolve from debate to dialogue. You will have taken another giant step on the road to unleashing the power of a good fight.

Coping with Jealousy

In her book, A New Look At Love, Elaine Walster describes jealousy as having two basic components: 1. a feeling of battered pride, and 2. a feeling that one’s property rights have been violated.
Margaret Mead observes that the shakier one’s self-esteem, the more vulnerable one is to jealousy. Jealousy records the degree of insecurity. It is a negative, miserable state of feeling, having its origin in the sense of insecurity and inferiority.
Sociologist Kingsley Davis provides a fascinating analysis of jealousy: “There are thus two dangers which beser any person with regard to property. The first is that somebody will win out over him in legitimate competition. This is danger of superiority rivalry. The second is that somebody will illegitimately take from him property already acquired. This is danger or trespass. Most malignant emotions are concerned with these two dangers, being directed either at a rival or trespasser or at someone who is helping a rival or trespasser.

Controlling Jealousy
Elaine Walster recommends the following steps to jealous feelings:

1. Try to find out exactly what it is that is making you jealous. Usually, you can pinpoint something specific about the situation which is bothering you. Two key questions to ask are: What was going on in the few moments before you started to
feel this way? And, What are you afraid of? Family therapist Larry Constantine lists several situations that often trigger jealousy. Feeling that you’re no longer number one, and everyone knows it. Feeling upset because you can’t predict what’s going to happen. Thus, the first step is to try to understand what you feel and why you feel this way.

2. Try to put your jealous feelings in perspective. Be in touch with what a rational component is and what an irrational one is. Force yourself to consider each jealously-arousing situation more realistically. You can gain even more control if you can manage to change the situation.

3. Negotiating a Contract. Once you know exactly what makes you jealous, you can begin to negotiate; that is, bargain with yourself to find a balance in hopes of becoming more comfortable with the situation.
In his book, Being and Doing, Eric Morris suggests these valuable ideas to help us overcome envy: “Try imagining that each of us is climbing our own mountain and that each mountain has its unique obstacles. If you can think about your journey as being unlike anyone else’s, you will stop comparing yourself to others. Make a list of all your daily activities and pick out those cause you to waste time feeling envious of others and replace them with more productive involvement.

Next time you notice that you are putting someone down or feeling bitter about your place in life, ask yourself just what you are accomplishing.

Five Steps for Handling Personal Criticism

By criticism I don’t mean helpful and constructive feedback, but rather mean-spirited destructive behavior. Criticism may come from enemies, competitors, colleagues, superiors, our team, the community, and even our family. Today there are those who suffer physically and emotionally because of things that were said about them. Others have just cracked down under the strain. Then there are those who dread facing meetings for fear of criticism. Many have just resigned because they cannot deal with it.

Handling Personal Criticism

1. Thank the person for the feedback
Express your gratitude to this person for saying something. It is difficult to change yourself if you are not aware of your mistakes, and someone has just offered you an external glimpse at your behavior. It may sometimes be more appropriate to start with an apology rather than a thank you or to apologize without any thanks.

2. If you have made a mistake, admit it
It also may be helpful to begin by admitting that you’ve made a mistake. Tell the other person, “You’re right”. You lose nothing by doing this. If you admit your mistakes, it helps to avoid fights as well.

3. Apologize if appropriate
Obviously, a strong apology will mean a lot to someone who is close to you. Apologies are a major impetus to forgiveness. If we apologize well, it allows the other person to more easily forgive us.

4 .Take steps to improve
You may need to be reminded more than once to make improvements. It is possible you will have to analyze you pattern to find out if some fundamental conflict rests underneath it.

5. Enlist the other person’s help to monitor your progress
Monitor your progress. You may need to ask the person criticizing you to help you make long-term changes. Encourage him or her to remind you whenever you engage in this particular behavior. Share the fact that you want to change but that without feedback it is difficult to do so. You are now in partnership with them. And whenever you repeat this behavior, you can use a slightly modified Ronald Reagan line, “There I go again. I’m so sorry. And thanks for reminding me”. Humor always helps.

Three Keys to Control Worry

When we worry, it’s a complete experience that affects the main parts of our emotional life- what we think, what we do, how we feel, and how we relate to others. Worry is not only affects us, it also disrupts our relationships with other people.

What is Worry?
Amazing, despite being a universal human experience, authors of the book “Generalized Anxiety Disorder” Cynthia Turk, Richard Heimberg, and Douglas Mennin states that worry has proven remarkably difficult to clearly define. From intensive study of people who worry excessively, we now know that an accurate definition of worry consists of three key parts: future orientation, catastrophizing, and language based thoughts.

Thomas Borkovec, a pioneer in worry research originally set out to study insomnia. During his research with people who had trouble sleeping, he made an interesting breakthrough. He found that people who had difficulty sleeping suffered from excessive mental activity that seemed similar to worry.

Overcoming Worry
Pray Correctly. The Bible instructs us: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (I Peter 5:7), and do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God. If you ask right, when you pray correctly, you get it. So remember always to introduce God into your problem, present your problem to God and give thanks for what He has done. You will realize that the result of correct praying is that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard our heart and minds in Christ.
Think Correctly. Wrong thinking results in wrong feelings, which in turn fuel further wrong thinking. Often, our fears are more perceived than real. We imagine things to be worse than they really are. What you think about all day long, you become. Your thoughts become action. Your actions develop into a habit. Your habits form your character. And your character defines your destiny.
Live it out. Do it. Do the will of God. Methodist minister and author Leslie Weatherhead once said: “Once tip to overcome worry is to do anything that can be usefully done.
In other words, turn the futile activity of worrying into useful action. Do not let your worries paralyze you. Let them revitalize you. One of the best things we can do with worries is to let them drive us to positive action, godly action. That is correct living.

Handling Rejection in Network Marketing

If you are in a network marketing business, your initial goal is to call 100 people. What if you get an outright rejection? Or when one says, “No thanks” remind yourself that was only 1 percent that’s nothing. However, none of us likes to be rejected. Rejection causes us to feel numb. It paralyzes a lot of people and keeps them from making that next call. One way of coping is to put this rejection into a tidy little package that you can dispose of easily. I have heard many successful network marketing people chant a little mantra to themselves after rejection: “Some Will, Some Won’t, So What, Who’s Next?”
They have learned that the ones who say no don’t count. They know they have to sort through them to find the ones who say yes and every rejection shortens the path to a “yes” response.

Be Prepared to Press On
Overcoming your feeling of rejection is the hardest part of the business. Master it and you gain a skill that will form the basis of your future success. Most of the people who fail at network marketing do so because they give up after a few unsuccessful calls, never getting on their feet again. As with most ventures, it’s those who press on after stumbling at the first hurdles who are successful and reap the rewards of their success.

Don’t Give Up
If you’re getting a 20 percent success rate you may have to make 100 calls to get 20 appointments or bookings. Accept the rejections as part of building your customer base and your business. Keep making the calls, experimenting with different approaches, until you develop the ones that get the best results.
Paul Goldner in his book “Red-hot Cold Call Selling” (p.16) explained that “a rejection should never be viewed as a no. Rather, a rejection should simply be viewed as information about a given prospect that both allow you to properly position that prospect in your sales pipeline”.
I read a book, “Be a Network Marketing Superstar” by Mary and Wayne Christensen, they says that rejection is part of the process of sifting through prospects to find positive people with big dreams who recognize the opportunity you are offering them.

Five Steps to Deal with an Intimidating Manager

Most employees know how difficult it is to work for an intimidating manager. It is frustrating. It makes employees feel inferior and, gives them a feeling of inadequacy. Employees want these feelings to go away so they can have the power to be all they can be rather than let the intimidation inhibit their performance. Employees need to learn how to apply a series of well-thought-out steps to work more effectively with an intimidating manager.

Understand Intimidating
In order to overcome intimidating, employees must first know what it is. Recognizing what causes intimidation is more difficult, but employees must know the causes. Knowing what intimidation is and what causes it leads to ways to deal with it. One way is for employees simply to avoid it.

Analyze the Intimidation
Employees find it helpful to determine what is causing them to feel intimidated. It is essential for employees to recognize how they deal with intimidation. Employees need to identify what they are doing, how they are responding to and dealing with the intimidation stemming from each of the causes identified.

Decide to Do Something about it
Employees need to be encouraged to decide to do something about it, to hold avoiding the intimidation and living with it as last resorts, and focus on a combination of minimizing the causes of it and changing the way they deal with it.

Develop an Anti-Intimidation Plan
Employees will need to identify circumstances where they are intimidated by their manager. When manager is evaluating the performance of employees, they feel as though everything they do is unsatisfactory, that it always should have been better or easier. In his Book, “How to Manage Your Boss” Roger Fritz stated that identifying specific examples rather than making generalization is more helpful to employees.

Put the Plan into Effect
Employees need to be reminded that having a plan is the key. Once they have it and are committed to it, they can put it into effect and take the steps necessary to effectively deal with an intimidating manager.
Employees can learn to step up and step out of intimidation.

Tips to Control Discouragement in the Ministry

How does a leader deal with discouragement? Perhaps it is because they see little growth in their ministry. There seems to be little reward for their efforts. People don't want to change and they are tired for their effort. How does a leader fight this loss of motivation and find the energy to go on?I have come up with five headings to cover all I have read and experienced over the years on the subject.

1. Take care of your own mental and spiritual health Plan to have time out.
If you have no time to read, to relax, to have fun, to be with the family or go for a short holiday then something is wrong. You need physical, intellectual and spiritual stimulation.

2. Cultivate Friendships
When last did you spend time with a friend? Are you expecting all your social needs to be met by the people you minister to? Find individuals who can stimulate you. Allow yourself the time to be with people outside your sphere of ministry.

3. Find the root cause of your discouragement.
What is sapping your emotional energy? Is it the long hours, your environment, the cultural adaptations, the sudden low after a high, lack of job satisfaction, lost opportunities, your inability to keep commitments.

4. Never to give up
God has designed our experiences for specific reasons. Fulfillment, development or growth comes with a price.

5. Keep your focus
Do yourself a favour and read the account. Concentrate on God and not on the obstacles you face. Do what you can do by drawing from God strength. God will give you the resources and strength to carry on. Do not lose faith and neglect your life of prayer or you will lose God's role for you.
Be honest. A key reason for this is the pressure of our competitive, success-oriented age.
Here are the basic steps to reducing unwanted stress:

1. Calm Down with Relaxation Technique.
Develop a trigger for yourself, so whenever you feel sensations of stress coming on, you can catch yourself and remain calm and relaxed.

2. Understand the Sources of Your Stress.
To find out the reason you feel tense, get in a relaxed frame of mind and mentally ask yourself the question: Why am I so tense right now? Then, listen to whatever thoughts immediately pop into mind or notice any images that appear.

3. Decide What You Need to Do to Get Rid of This source of Stress.
Once you have determined the reason for your stress in a particular situation, the next step is asking yourself what you should do about it. Ask the second question; What do you need to do to stay calm?

4. Chase Away Any Worries About the Problem.
The final step is to chase away any worries about achieving the results you want.
If you’ve got any worries standing in the way of overcoming your feelings of tension, you’ve got to eliminate them, and you can do so in four ways:

a. Come up with an alternative , so you can act to affect the situation.
b. Visualize the outcome you want, and your focus on this will help bring about the desired result.
c. Remind yourself that you will do it to build confidence.
d. Affirm that whatever happens is what should happen, so you can accept what comes and feel satisfied with it.

Depending on the situation, use any one or a combination of these techniques. Then, when you are done, turn your thoughts to something else, unless you have planned to take a specific action, so the inner powers released by your concentration can work within you to help create the change you want.

Overcoming Shyness

Overcoming shyness may seem overwhelming or impossible. Not so! It takes effort, just like changing any behavior, but it is very possible and well worth the effort. Remember, your fears are inevitably much worse than the reality of a situation. Here are some helpful tips on how overcome shyness.

1. Work on improving your self-confidence.

2. Understand why you are shy. What are you afraid of?

3. play-act. In the privacy of your home, act out the way you would like to be taken to the extreme. By going to the extreme, you slough off hidden anxieties, embarrassment, and shame, and come back to your center refreshed and reenergized.

4. Mimic someone you admire who is not shy. Imitation is a key to learning. Other people's action can be a guide on how to act the way you would like.

5. Do something that makes you feel good about yourself.

6. Be prepared to be seen or discover whenever, wherever. Many people don't bother to look their best some days, either out of laziness or thinking that it won't matter.

7. Forget the "I’m not worthy" routine. Keep your mind on a power track with affirmations. Repeat to yourself, "I am a worthwhile person." No matter what happens, you are worthy.

8. Redefine shyness (not as fear, but as enjoying observing situations).

9. Combat your fear of rejection. Expect and accept that everyone at one time or another gets rejected.

10. Take risks. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Everything in life has an end, so take risks, because you have nothing to lose. or, as my friend says, "if you don't take a chance, you don't have a chance."

11. Use self-disclosure. Confess to people that you’re shy, so they won't misread you. The confession in itself can be endearing and an icebreaker to a conversation.

Feeling good about yourself is a key to overcoming shyness. One way to do this is to look your best.

Managing Fear of Public Speaking

The fear of public speaking is real and widespread. It's been said that many people would list public speaking ahead of dying on a list of things they dread most. The bad news is that if this phobia isn't managed effectively it will likely become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Here are some recommendations for reducing your anxiety about public speaking.

1. Fear of public speaking is perfectly normal and can be managed and overcome. To properly manage the fear of public speaking, you must first understand exactly what it is-nothing more than classic stage fright.

2. Maintain a positive confident attitude about yourself and your message. The most important aspect of managing your fear is to develop the right mental attitude. You must start with believing in yourself as a person, believing in the positions your'e going to take, and believing that what you have to say is valuable to your audience.

3. Give yourself mental pep talks. Convince yourself that your'e the right person to make this presentation. This may mean giving yourself a few mental pep talks during your preparation.

4. Visualize yourself giving a successful, well-received speech and having a good time doing it. Positive visualization exercises are wonderful therapy for managing the fear of public speaking. Picture yourself being successful in front of the audience and having a really good time giving the talk.

5. Audiences tend to be very forgiving toward novice speakers. Remember that even if there are a couple of people in the audience who know a lot about your topic, you have a completely different perspective on it and they'll be interested in hearing your views.

6. Even the most accomplished speakers have had to overcome some level of fear early in their careers. There's no such thing as a natural speaker. All speakers, even the most accomplished you've ever heard, have had to overcome some level of fear and have acquired their skills and developed their poise over a period of time.

7. The greatest weapon against fear is preparation. Spend your time preparing rather than fretting. Concentrate on your message and how you want to deliver it.

8. The second greatest weapon against fear is practice. Be sure to rehearse your speech as often as you can. If a great communicator like George Bernard Shaw had to pay his dues by practicing his way through his fear of public speaking, there's no reason for you to be reluctant about doing the same.

Biological reactions to the fear of speaking in front of a group of people are perfectly normal. Remember that fear is simply a feeling.

Method for Driving Out Fear in the Workplace

This is another challenge to overcome. In the first year of implementing Total Quality Management(TQM) it is practically impossible to eliminate fear. Many people are afraid that they will lose their jobs if TQM is implemented. In fact, people frequently say that,"if they eliminated the errors in this organization, what would I do?" Also, after they have looked at a flowchart and see the amount of rework that has to be done, they will realized that if the process was done right the first time, it would require fewer people. For front-liners, it's often the fear of losing their job. For managers, it is the fear of losing their job; and in many cases, the fear of losing power and control over people. I addressed this issue by making a claim that there was plenty of work to be done in the organization.

One of the most effective methods for driving out fear is to increase the knowledge and skills of workers. Fear comes from the loss of something important, such as a job or power. What reduces fear is the self-image individuals have regarding their professional knowledge and skills. Treating all organization members as professionals, investing in their education, and improving their skills is a major step forward in driving out fear. Once the organization members know the organization is serious about putting the customer first and that you allow accurate and meaningful data will drive decisions in the organization, they will gradually begin to build their trust in the organization.

Driving out fear is a low incremental process. Managers will try to sabotage TQM efforts by constantly reminding teams that they can go ahead and meet but they better meet standards and achieve their quotas. Usually managers who are againts the TQM initiative will wait for the team to experience some difficulty and then sit back, laugh and say,"see, I told you so. They can't work together."

Building trust often requires taking two steps forward and one step back. Fear disappears only by practicing the principles of Total Quality Management. When the focus is on correcting the system and not correcting people, fear in the organization will dissipate.

Five Steps to Overcome Fear of Failure

Fear of failure prevents many people from reaching their full potential. It generates an inability to make committed decisions and persevere in the face of obstacles. And yet, without these abilities, success is never more than an accident.
Fear of failure is a self-esteem issue and arises from the mistaken belief that experiences which result in failure define one's self as a failure.

How should one look at failure?

First, make a persistent conscious effort to divorce failure from the issue of self-esteem. The idea that human beings successes or failure is based on overgeneralization and all or nothing thinking. These are reasoning errors. In truth every human being who has ever lived has succeeded at some things and failed at others.

Second, discard the idea that failure is all bad.You can learn from any failure if you search hard enough. Pose the question, "What can I learn from this?"and, if need be, wrack your brain for an answer. If you answer "Nothing," ask, :What can I learn from having answered in that way?" You will be able to find a more elaborate and helpful answer.

Third, understand that success and failure are intimately associated. In many cases, in many pursuits, failure is a necessary prerequisite for success. Learn from what happens, make corrections, and take those actions that now seem most likely to reap rewards.

Fourth, bear this in mind: The vast majority of successful people have failed many times in their lives. Many successful people have failed a lot. To maximize your chances of success, try difficult, exciting things, and when you fail, ask what you can learn from it. Failing usually is better than not trying at all. Not trying is the one way to guarantee you fail.

Finally, all your ducks needn't be in a row. Many people think that before starting their career, they must start with a crystal clear idea of their ultimate career goal and know they have the potential to succeed. It rarely works that way. Many successful people get their first jobs with only a general idea of their career direction. Many are unsure whether they'll succeed in that career.

6 Techniques to Overcome Fear of Rejection in Marketing Business

Fear of rejection is one of the most common fears shared by all human beings. Nobody wants to be turned down, put down, left out, kicked out, disliked, or unwanted. Everybody wants to be loved, accepted, respected, cared for, and valued by everyone.

All sellers must cope with the fear of rejection that comes before the contact and feelings of rejection after the contact has occured. The fear of personal rejection prevents many accountants from making a marketing contact. Most marketers can separate themselves from the product to overcome fear of rejection. Because our services are our products, however, we are the product, and detachment is harder for us.

Techniques to Overcome Fear of Rejection

1. Don't go for the kill on the first call. Set the objective for the first interaction at a very low level may be just creating awareness. Then if you can build each successive call into a sales strategy, the overwhelming fear of rejection won't stop you.

2. Planning your response to rejection. Your contact may have a rational reason for not doing business with you right now.

3. Teach yourself that marketing that is not successful today will be successful tomorrow. The activity of teaching yourself will help you build the potential client relationship or will prepare you to market better.

4. Maintain a healthy balance of positive client interaction with new prospect activity. The client relationships will enable you to be confident with prospects.

5. The best way to overcome the fear of rejection is to adopt a positive attitude and actively market your services with the belief that some prospects will indeed want to engage you.

6. Remember that all fear is conquered through experience. If you have a positive frame of mind when you encounter prospects, you will experience an incrreasing level of acceptance. The fear of rejection will steadily diminish as your experience and expectation of acceptance increase.

The fear of rejection is a very powerful psychological force that affects person in every walk of life. Success at marketing requires, first, recognition that the fear of rejection exists, followed by action to deal with it and overcome it.

Strategies to Reduce Fear of the Future

Successful people apply strategies that lessen the fear of the future and what it can afford them.
Separate Caution from Fear
Caution is an intelligent response to a real threat. Have you ever seen Toxic People explode when they don't get their way?Your fear heightens when you know you are the one who must approach these human volcanoes with information that runs contrary to what they want. When you feel helpless, remain calm and take an outsider's view to accurately assess the level of true danger. Have an out-of-body experience and look from the outside in; then take reasonable precautions. Are your words instilling fear?Do you feel fearful becuase your perception of the situation is distorted?Force yourself to proceed with caution.
Be Optimistic
Fear is selfish-yes, selfish, because it turns you inward. When you take responsibility for your outcomes in a positive fashion with your work groups, your frieds, and even total strangers, it forces you to turn outward. If you question your ability to turn toxic situations into more positive outcomes, you need to improve the belief you have in your talents and skills.
Develop True Belief in Yourself
Understand who you have become and strickly live by your core values. Be assertive and always stand up for your rights while not violating the rights of others. Self-awareness and confidence allow a realistic view of the current events and will help you evaluate your fears more objectively.
Do Something
Fear can immobilze you. Forcing yourself to do something-anything-can change the focus and free you from fear. Learn, read, take a class just do it. Knowing that you have the skill and information to proceed can erase the fear.
The future is never predictable, which means that the brain must remain open to the unexpected even when behaving according to plans.

Change Your Toxic Thoughts

Did you know that your thoughts are like records that play in your head and that if they are negative, they can be erased and re-recorded with more positive messages?Using this metaphor, you can see that if your mind has a tendency to play the prerecorded message of negativity, you have the ability to reprogram the station and train your mind to listen to another voice, just as you change the station of a car radio.
There are many counselors and self-help experts who can help you change your self-talk and create new recordings. And remember that whatever the mind believes, it manifest in your body as reality.
Negative self-talk is actually a physical toxin. This toxin not only poisons the mind, but your entire body. Toxic thoughts create emotions, and emotions are chemical reactions that take place in your body. These reactions create hormonal by-poducts that your liver has to filter. If you think about how anger of frustration make you feel, just imagine what thy're doing to your poor liver.
Tips
The best advise is (1.) to continue to work on yourself, (2.)foster healthy relationships, (3.)and keep an attitude of gratitude your emotion for all the good things you do have going for you. Temper your emotions appropriately when in company, but when alone, don't surppress them. This can be as unhealthy as surppressing a cold. When you're sad, cry. When your'e angry, yell at the moon. And when your'e happy and you know it, clap your hands.

Online Shopping, Is It Safe?

Is it safe to shop online? Is it safe to buy and sell on eBay?
The answer to both questions is a qualified yes.
Shopping online and buying and selling on eBay are all relatively safe activities if you use common sense.
Still, there are several steps you can take to improve the security and the success of your online transactions. Read on to discover the tips to make your online shopping as safe as possible.
Tip#1: Trust Your Instincts. If something smells fishy, avoid it. If your'e not comfortable shopping at a specific website, then don't.
Tip#2: Shop with Merchants You Know. One of the easiest ways to increase your online safety is to shop only at established and familiar companies.
Tip#3: Check for Complaints. When you're shopping online, it's likely that you'll find some of the lowest prices at merchants you haven't shopped with before. One of the better ways to check up on an unfamiliar merchant is to read what others have to say about the retailer.
Tip#4: Look for a Secure Site. Data sent over the Internet can be picked off by dedicated hackers unless that data is handled by a secure server.
Tip#5: look for Real-World Contact Info. Shop at only those sites that have real-world contact information. Beware of sites that don't even include an email contact address, and try to target sites that prominently list their phone number, fax number, or street address for post-sale support.
Tip#6: Don't Provide Any More information Than You Have To. One of the risks of shopping online is having your identity stolen during the checkout process. Fortunately, you can limit your exposure to identity theft by providing only information that's absolutely necessary.
Tip#7: Safeguard Your Password. Some online retailers offer rapid checkout to repeating customers, assigning each customer a username and password. Someone who knows your username and password might be able to make purchase from the retailer without providing a credit card number.
As a buyer, you assume more risk than the seller does.

Cause of Diseases

When I first began to study nutrition, I was exposed to only the mainstream, conventional information that we have all heard at least bits and pieces of: Information like the importance of vitamins, a balanced diet according to the food pyramid and how it is necessary to steer clear of bacteria. As the years went on, I gradually uncovered the superficial information that had been sold to us to find deep truths about the foods we eat and their effects on our body.
I first want to talk about disease and where it sterms from. Disease is an imbalance in the body. The imbalance sterms from two things: Toxema and Malnutrition. Toxema is caused by toxins that enter the body in several ways. Oneway is through our invironment.
There's no denying that we live in a toxic world and everyone is exposed to some level of toxins on a daily basis, especially in those industrial western culture. They are our food, air, water, soil, medications and vaccinations. A second way toxins enter our body is by cooking the foods we ingest. I am here to tell you that cooking foods can produce toxic residues that accumulate throughout our body.We cannot escape toxins, but we can control the intake to a certain extent.
A third form of toxicity is mental and emotional toxicity. I believe in the mind body connection and destructive thinking can poison the human body just as much the toxic chemicals we ingest.
One of the original founders of the food and Drug Administration, Dr. Harvey Willey, spoke of how the ingredients of cold and cough remedies all contain poisons that relieve conditions by surppressing the "detoxification process", thereby pushing all of the toxins trying to get out back into the body and adding additional drug poisons. Dr. Willey was later forced from his position at the FDA because of his great knowledge on the natural healing effects of the body and the poisonous effects of pharmaceuticals.
The amazing this is that the body will do its job if given the right tools. Its job is detoxification and healing, and the tools are raw foods, exercise, rest and a positive attitude.

Dangerous Influenza Virus

Influenza viruses include the avian, swine, equine and canine influenza viruses, as well as the human influenza A viruses. According to the doctors, influenza A viruses are classified into subtypes based on two surface antigens, the hemagglutin antigens(H) and neuraminidase(N) proteins. There are 16 hemagglutin antigens(H1 to H16) and nine neuraminidase antigens(N1 to N9). These two proteins are involved in cell attachment and release from cells, and are also major targets for the immune response. Only limited subtypes are found in each species of mammal.
By nature the influeza virus is dangerous, considerably more dangerous than the common aches and fever lead people to believe, but it does not kill routinely as it did in 1918. The 1918 pandemic reached an extreme of virulence unknown in any other widespread influeza outbreak in history.
Prevention
The most effective way to prevent influenza and its complications is to immunize people of all ages at highest risk for complications. The Centers for Disease Control(CDC)stated that the measures currently available for preventing or reducing the impact of influenza are (1)parenteral vaccination with inactivated vaccine, and for influenza A, (2)oral administration of one of the antivirals, amantadine or remantadine.
Influenza-virus vaccine, a killed-virus vaccine prepared from virus grown in embryonated hen's eggs, is advocated by the World Health Organization(WHO)and the Centers for Disease Control(CDC)for use in patients susceptible to severe influenza infection.
Treatment
In patients at significant risk for the development of influenza complications, the use of antiviral medications may decrease morbidity and mortality. Until recently, theraphy for influenza typically involved the use of amantadine or rimantadine, antiviral drugs active againts influenza A. Most studies examining the efficacy of these drugs have shown a reduction in clinical symptom scores, a faster resolution of fever, and a decrease in level and duration of virus shedding when compared with placebo.
